This grommet mounts on the firewall next to the wiper motor. The engine wiring and wiper switch cable runs through this grommet. If unprotected by a grommet, the hole where cables and wires pass through the firewall is often the start of peeling paint. Once loosened at the firewall hole, it is often difficult to stop.
